Nitin Sawhney – Street Guru (Part 2)

Street Guru (Part 2) is from Nitin Sawhney’s “Prophesy” CD. It’s kind of the inspiration for the title of this blog. The interview is with a Chicago Taxi Driver. In Street Guru (Part 1) he’s talking about Devon Avenue although the lyrics are wrong in the link. The website says, “you walk through the Vany Avenue” and they should say, “you walk through Devon Avenue”. I used to drive down that street everyday on my way to work. In Part 2 above I totally relate to the “hikin’” idea and I love the last three lines. The guy is such a Chicagoan.

Goatonapole is the philosophy of being that holds that there is a Goat and a Pole and that the Goat is on the Pole. Whether we accept, reject, or live in ignorance of Goatonapole, we are all Goatonapolists.
